A lecture about the history of the V&T Railroad and how it helped make the mining boom of the 1870s possible is planned at the Gold Hill Depot.
Stephen Drew, the author of “Nevada’s Virginia and Tahoe Railroad,” has researched the historic railroad for more than four decades. For the past 30 years he has been chief curator of the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento.
Drew’s presentation is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 28. Tickets are $5 each. The Gold Hill Depot is at the north end of Gold Hill, one mile south of Virginia City on Highway 342.
