A fire in Silver Springs on Monday killed the occupant.
A person died at in the 1700 block of 10th Street in Silver Springs Monday morning.
Central Lyon County Fire received a report of a structure fire at 8:53 a.m. The Engine and Battalion Chief arrived on scene at 9:08 a.m. to find the residence charged with smoke. Upon entry the crew located a victim and extinguished a room and contents fire. The victim died at the scene. The fire is currently under investigation by the Nevada State Fire Marshal’s Office.
No other injuries were reported. Central Lyon received mutual assistance from the Mason Valley, North Lyon, Storey County and Carson City fire departments.
