TOCCATA — Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus continues its Winter MusicFest with the 11th annual presentation of J. S. Bach’s masterpiece, The Passion according to St. Matthew.
The first performance of the four-concert series will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, March 18 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3597 N. Sunridge Drive.
The program, to be performed in English, will feature selections from Part Two of the Passion. Soloists include: Chris Langton, Chris Nelson, Maria Arrigotti, Anna Helwing, and Joy Strotz.
Continuo will be Katie Lauder on harpsichord and Nicholas Haines on cello. Maestro James Rawie will conduct all performances.
The St. Matthew Passion will be repeated at 3 p.m. on Palm Sunday, March 20, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 100 Bishop Manogue Drive in South Reno, and again at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1041 Lyons Ave. in South Lake Tahoe. The final concert will be at 7 p.m. on Good Friday, March 25, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 341 Village Blvd. in Incline Village.
General admission to all concerts is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $5 for students aged 19 to 23 with valid ID. Preferred seating is $35 and $15 for youth/students. Youth under 19 years of age are admitted free in non-reserved seating.

TOCCATA’s 11th Summer MusicFest kicks off on June 17 with Going 4 Baroque, featuring Josue Casillas performing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 4. It will include Bach’s Cantata BWV No. 147 Herz unt Munt, and other works by Vivaldi and Corelli.
