Naval Air Station Fallon will conduct a change of command ceremony on Friday as Capt. David Halloran relieves Capt. Leif Steinbaugh as commanding officer.
The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Hangar 7.
Halloran’s most recent tour was as air boss of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington. Steinbaugh now reports to the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) as the director of training. Prior to becoming the base’s commander, Steinbaugh served as the Airborne Electronics Attack Weapons School Department head.
Military and civilian dignitaries, NASF Sailors, family and friends are invited to bid farewell to Steinbaugh and welcome Halloran and his family to NAS Fallon and the Fallon community.
Halloran is the thirty-second commanding officer since the base’s inception in 1942.
The event’s guest speaker will be Rear Adm. Mark Rich, commander, Navy Region Southwest.
