Volunteer Master Gardeners with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and Parks and Recreation are working together to offer community garden plots to individuals and groups.

The plots are located near the Carson City Senior Center and Lone Mountain Cemetery on Beverly Drive. The $20-per-year fee includes the use of all available tools, water, some compost and fertilizer, as well as access to two Master Gardener volunteers.

If anyone cannot pay the fee, he or she can contact Lindsay Chichester at 775-887-2252 or chichesterl@unce.unr.edu to make arrangements. Additionally, free waivers are available to anyone interested in growing with the intention of donating all produce to an organization in town that helps people.

For more information, contact Chichester, or go to www.unce.unr.edu.
