The 17th annual Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Run is scheduled for the end of April.
The run will begin April 27 in Las Vegas and end May 5 at the Capitol Grounds in Carson City. It will be to honor those listed on the Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and bring public attention to the dedication and sacrifice made by all Nevada Law Enforcement Officers, especially those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Each leg of the Memorial Run represents an officer listed on the Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. For 2016, there will be 129 legs for the 129 names on the memorial, including Carson City’s own Deputy Carl Howell.
Each run participant will run a specific distance carrying a baton containing all the names of the officers on the memorial. The baton is scheduled to be in Carson City at noon on May 5.
