George Dini, son of former Assembly Speaker Joe Dini, filed on Friday for the seat his father held more than 35 years.
Dini, 62, said he feels “disenfranchised with our current representative.”
The incumbent in District 38, Republican Robin Titus, is seeking her second-term in the office.
“I’m not happy with the make-up of the Legislature and the disrespect they’ve shown,” he said.
Dini, a Democrat, ran once before but lost to Tom Grady, who has since been termed out.
He owns the family’s casino-restaurant, Dini’s Lucky Club, in Yerington along with his brother Jay.
