Mason Valley woman found dead from gunshot

A 26-year-old Lyon County woman died Tuesday from a gunshot wound.

At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stanley Lane in Mason Valley for a report of a gunshot injury. When they arrived they found Johnie Shadden, an on-duty postal worker, dead.

Shadden had stopped at her residence as part of her normal mail route.

The Postal Service, the FBI and the LCSO are investigating the death.

Lyon County Sheriff Al McNeil says this is an “isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.”
