The Office of Economic Development Board on Friday approved an expansion of tax breaks for Cristek Interconnects, a Minden company who produces high-tech wiring, connectors, electromechanical assemblies and other components for the defense industry.
Company owner Cristi Cristich said the firm is expanding its operations in the Carson Valley with plans to begin also exploring possibilities in the drone market.
The company will get a total of $76,123 in sales, business and personal property tax abatements in return for installing another $1.1 million in equipment and making a total investment of $1.5 million.
The firm offers an average salary after this expansion of some $27 an hour.
The company first won state tax breaks in 2013, beginning operation with 20 employees. This expansion will add another eight jobs.
Most of the company’s products are used in military equipment such as ballistic and defense missiles.
