Free Government Seed. The “Eagle” has received from Congressman Roberts a limited supply of government seeds, which will be cheerfully handed out to any of the farmers or those desiring to plant gardens. Owing to the fact that some children around town have the last year or two asked for government seeds and wasted them in play instead of planting as the government contemplates, these seeds will only be given out to adults, or to children who come with an order from their parents.

75 Years Ago

Kolhoss Store Robbed Second Time. For the second time within a week the Kolhoss Cash Store was entered Wednesday night when some cigarettes, .22 rifle cartridges and pennies from a gum machine were taken. A week before the store had been broken into and some $30 in cash taken as well as merchandise.

City is Building Walks at Cost. Property owners who want to have sidewalks built have a golden opportunity now. Owners will be charged 35¢ a linear foot or just the cost of materials.

Couple Charivaried. Mr. and Mrs. Hoot Elkins were the honor guests at a charivari party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Couveau, following a parade through the streets in which the bridegroom wheeled his bride on a grease cart to the delight of a large group of friends.

Top Honors at Horse Show. “Snowboy”, appaloosa stallion owned by Jack Norris of Reno, was chosen Grand Champion Stallion at halter in the Appaloosa Horse Show last Sunday and high-point performing horse for the day. His handler at the show was Bronson Ostitch.

Gunman Holds Up Clerks. Police are still looking for a man who pointed a gun at two Safeway clerks and calmly ordered then to stuff all their money in a paper bag, then took off, leaving a couple of pretty shaky clerks in his wake. Lloyd Warbington, Safeway manager, who was not at the store when the robbery took place, did not have any comment to make concerning the hold-up.

Paddy’s Pub. If a leprechaun is going to appear anywhere in Fallon it will surely be at “Paddy’s Pub”, and Sam Murano and Lewis Moiola will be the first to extend a welcoming hand. In fact, there might be more than one of the wee Irish creatures lurking about the Armory this Saturday night while the Annual St. Patrick’s Benefit Ball is in full swing. Dancing to the Three Hams begins at 10p.m.
