The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League meets quarterly for dinner, a short business meeting and speakers who talk about the various duties the sea services provide.
This quarter’s meeting on Tuesday, May 10 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino will feature Lt. Justin M. Bowles, MD. The social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. The price is $27 per person.
Bowles is the general medical officer and officer-in-charge of the Mountain Medicine and Cold Weather Medicine Courses at the Marine Corp Mountain Warfare Training Center. He is a graduate of the Marine Corp’s Mountain Leader Course and the Nepalese Army High Altitude and Mountain Warfare School. The Carson City Council sponsors recognition programs and provides scholarships for Navy and Marine personnel at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center near Bridgeport, Calif., and NAS Fallon, as well as, for the Carson High Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Command. It also sponsors the USNS Carson City, EPF-7.
