Silver Strike CrossFit will mark National Police Week, May 15-21, by raising money for a Northern Nevada charity while offering free classes to members of local law enforcement.
Throughout May, the gym is accepting donations on behalf of the Northern Nevada Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). The organization helps support families and colleagues of police officers lost in the line of duty.
Donations can be dropped at Silver Strike CrossFit, 3260 Centennial Park Drive, which also is offering free classes to all local law enforcement officers and their spouses throughout the month.
“I think it’s important that we acknowledge our area law enforcement officers. They put their lives on the line every day for us” said co-owner Alex Tinsley. “It’s a way for us to say thank you, plus we want to help those left behind when an officer is killed”.
