The Carson High athletic department is holding an informational meeting May 23 at 6 p.m, in Morse Burley Gymnasium.
This is the only athletic department meeting scheduled for the 2016-17 school year, and parents, guardians and athletes are urged to attend.
The meeting will discuss sign-ups, eligibility requirements, random drug testing, concussion testing and other important items. Most coaches will be available for questions after the main meeting.

Alexander golf clinic
set for May 22
The 24th annual Fred Alexander Memorial Family Golf Clinic is set for May 22 at Eagle Valley Golf Course.
There’s no charge, and instruction will be provided by area golf pros. Applications are available at all local golf courses as well as on line at www.alexandergolfclinic.com.
Renown trick shot artist Peter Longo will be on hand, and area pros will give short and long game lessons. A lunch, free raffle for the kids, golf clubs (while they last) to participants without their own equipment an backpacks with free goodies while supplies last.
Patterson and Pemberton
team up for victory
Dennis Patterson and Bob Pemberton shot a net 65 to win Flight A at the recent Carson Valley Golf Club two-man alternate shot event.
Gary and Jeff Schreiber were second with a 72. In Flight B, Brent Holderman and Roger Hala won in a tiebreaker with a 63 over Richard Torok and Fred Coons. In Flight C, John Pearson and John Carey won in a tiebreaker over Jack Zippwald and John Guidicatti. Both teams shot 52s.
• Carson Valley is starting a Couples League starting today. The weekly event starts at 5:30 p.m.. It’s nine holes, dinner and $5 prize fund. The cost is $35 per player. For more information, call 265-3181. On May 21, there’s a Couples Tournament. The 2-player tournament is in a Jack and Jill format. The cost is $50 per player for golf, cart, lunch and prize fund.
Saints are off
to 3-0 start
The Saints knocked off the 49ers (58-30), the Seahawks (42-24) and the Packers (64-36) during the opening week of the NFL Flag Football League at Fremont Elementary School. Games are played every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Fremont.
The Packers finished the first week 2-1, while the 49ers went 1-2 and the Seahawks are 0-3.
Alex Myrehn led the Saints with six TDs, while Zach Guthrie had five TDs, Danny Cazares and Isaac Avina had four each. Liam Kordonoway had three TD passes while Brandon Escobar had two scoring passes. Hunter Green scored tree times while Michael McDonald and Anthony Loyola added TDs. Trevor Marlin and Mack Chambers scored four times each for the 49ers, while Kory Grist and Matthew Doan added three apiece. Bryce Lehman led the Seahawks with four scores while Gabriel Fanning had three TD passes and Logan Shierholt had a interception return for a score.
Baseball camps set
for Peccole Park
The University of Nevada baseball coaching staff has announced two summer camps at Peccole Park.
Nevada will host the Junior Wolf Pack Baseball Academy All-Star camp and a Prospect Elite Showcase. The five-day all-star camp has six sessions — June 13-17, June 20-24, July 11-15, July 18-22, Aug. 1-5 and Aug. 8-12. The camp is open to boys between the ages of 5 and 13. Sessions are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $300.
The showcase is open to all high school players and is being held July 30-31. The cost is $350.

Ladies clinics set
for Eagle Valley
Eagle Valley is hosting ladies clinics every Tuesday at 5 p.m. The cost is $20 which includes a 15-minute lesson, three holes and appetizers and adult beverage afterward.

• Dave Linnell and John Burt shot a 74 to win low gross honors at the recent Eagle Valley Senior Men’s Club two-man tournament. Larry Tinker and Skip Hempler shot 83 to finish second.
Ron Johns and Carl Dibble won low net with a 66, two shots clear of Mac Macquarrie and Joe Paden.
Swann wins at
Empire Ranch
Geoff Swann scored 43 to win Flight A at the recent Empire Ranch tournament on May 4. The format was Stableford. Don Stevens and John Tierney tied for second with 42 points.
Duane Carroll won Flight B with a 45, while Bill Allen and Ray McPartlin had 42 apiece. Clark Reid and Bll Langs headed Flight C with 42s and Greg Bentley had 41. Bob White won Flight D with a 40, one point better than Bob Pluth and Peter Youngdahl.
John Hauck, Charles Bell, Paul Lockwood and Dennis Justin won closest to the hole honors.
