Pets of the Homeless and its partners are hosting a free wellness clinic at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 21 at FISH, 138 E. Long St.
The clinic will be on a first come, first serve basis for the first 100 pets. There will be free vaccinations, exams, pet food, supplies and nail trims. Veterinary services will be provided by Sierra Veterinary Hospital, Timberline Animal Hospital and Carson Tahoe Veterinary Hospital. Other services will be provided by Haute Dog.
Attendees are asked to leash their dogs and bring their cats in a carrier or box.
Pets of the Homeless has a nationwide task to feed and provide veterinary care to homeless people’s pets and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who cannot provide for their pets. These wellness clinics are made possible by the participation of the veterinarians and pets service providers across the country. In 2015, wellness clinic sponsorships reached more than $8,500 nationwide to benefit pets of homeless people.
