The following cases were heard in the Tenth Judicial District Court before Judge Thomas Stockard.

The sentencing of Christopher Gelineau for one count of driving under the influence was rescheduled for two weeks. The defense switched to the public defender, and they needed time to discuss the case.

Mayze Smith pleaded guilty to three charges, one count of trafficking a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Sentencing will take place in January; the trafficking charge carries a prison sentence of two to five years without parole, while the possession charges carry a sentence of one to four years with a chance of parole.

Rosemarie Narciso pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful use or being under the influence of a controlled substance. She was placed on probation so she could complete a drug divergent program.

James Proctor pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, which resulted in death or substantial bodily harm. According to the court, he hit another vehicle while under the influence of prescription drugs; the driver of the other vehicle broke several bones and required surgery. Sentencing will take place in January.

Joshua Jackson was placed on probation, not to exceed three years, for charges of possessing a controlled substance.

Andrea Banks was sentenced to 30 days in Nevada State Prison, suspended, for violation of a temporary restraining order. She was placed on probation, not to exceed three years.

Dewayne Marion pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a schedule three, four or five controlled substance for purposes of sale. The charge carries a potential sentence of one to four years in prison. Sentencing will be held in January.

Jerry Brown received separate life sentences in prison, with parole possible after 10 years, for two counts of lewdness with a minor; two counts of sexual assault were previously stricken from the charges. The sentences will be served consecutively with credit for 113 days time served.
