Man killed in Fernley shooting

One man was killed and another injured in Fernley Thursday night in a shooting on East Newlands Drive.

Lyon County Sheriff deputies responded along with the Nevada Highway Patrol and North Lyon County Fire Protection District.

A LCSO spokesman said one individual who was pronounced dead at the scene, and another victim with gunshot injuries was transported to a local hospital.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office believes this is an isolated incident and poses no threat to the community.
