The Historical Society of Dayton Valley is accepting nominations and voting for the 2016 “Laura Tennant” and “Gold Nugget” awards at its Nov. 16 general membership meeting.
The meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the Dayton Valley Community Center will include “Mack/Hill Families — Comstock Pioneers,” a presented by Karen Howe.
Howe is compiling the names and history of people buried at the Dayton Cemetery, the oldest in Nevada. Refreshments will be served.
The winners of the Laura Tennant and Gold Nugget awards will be presented at the group’s annual Christmas party on Dec. 3.
