Two arrested after attempted armed robbery at Carson City Keva Juice

Two men were arrested Saturday after an attempted armed robbery at Keva Juice.

Deputies responded to the 2300 block of South Carson Street at 4:35 p.m. Saturday for reports of a man with a handgun allegedly trying to rob two employees at Keva Juice. According to witnesses, a man, later identified as 33-year-old Dale Jones, entered the establishment wearing a Halloween baby mask, a dark hoodie, carrying a black long barrel revolver and demanded money from the two female employees. The two refused to give Jones money and demanded he leave. When Jones turned his back the two employees ran to the back room and called 911.

Jones left on a mountain bike toward Curry Street. According to the arrest report, two witnesses followed Jones in their vehicle and saw him get into an RV at Rhodes and Curry streets.

Deputies initiated a high risk traffic stop on the RV in the parking lot of the Carson Street Applebee’s. Jones and James were the only occupants of the vehicle, James was driving, according to the arrest report.

Inside the RV, deputies located the clothing the suspect was wearing during the robbery, a methamphetamine pipe, throwing knives, a black revolver BB handgun, and the baby mask.

Jones was arrested on suspicion of felony attempted robbery, felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony ex-felon in possession of a firearm and Department of Alternative Sentencing pre-trial violation. Bail was set at $83,000.

James was arrested on suspicion of felony attempted robbery, two counts of failure to appear and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $44,650.
