The Brewery Arts Center’s summer concert series needs your vote by Monday.

This year’s 10-week free concert series featuring Mumbo Gumbo and other bands was funded by a $25,000 grant from the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation.

To host the series in 2017, the BAC needs to re-qualify for the Levitt AMP grant, which is awarded to nonprofits in 15 small to medium-sized cities every year.

A key factor in the foundation’s decision is public voting on the contenders.

Anyone can go online at grant.levittamp.org/voter-registration-page/ and cast a vote for Carson City.

The deadline for voting is 5 p.m. Monday.

“The really cool thing about the Levitt AMP Series is that it is all about community engagement,” said Gina Lopez Hill, executive director, BAC. “When people from different areas of the community work together, in this case using their power by voting to get Carson City to the next phase of the grant award, they often find that they have much in common and the more likely a community is to be successful in reaching its goals.”

The BAC outdoor concerts are held at its Minnesota Street outdoor stage and feature food, drink and activities in addition to live music.

The 2016 series ran from June 4 to Aug. 6 and included Southern Drawl Band, SambaDa’ and Incendio.
