Taking aim at the basket

Fallon youth will get to show off their basketball skills at the Elks Foundation Hoop Shoot free throw contest on Dec. 10.

The Fallon Elks Hoop Shoot is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 13. The contest will take place at the Venturacci Park Gym at noon.

Contestants will be split into age groups to compete with boys and girls competing in brackets of 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 years old. Age groups are determined by how old the player will be on April 1, 2017.

One boy and one girl from each group will have the opportunity to move on to the District competition; the winners there advance to State and then to the Regional competitions to decide who goes to the National Finals in Chicago on April 22.
