Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Two arrested on suspicion of trafficking

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

Carson City

THURSDAY

At 2:52 p.m., a 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of violation of pre-trial conditions after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Roop Street and Basque Way. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 8:46 p.m., a 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-second offense and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Roop Street and Northridge Drive. Bail was set at $3,500.

FRIDAY

At 12:31 a.m. a 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane after deputies responded to reports of an accident near Roop Street and Fairview Drive. Bail was set at $1,040.

At 1:52 p.m., a Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of criminal contempt after deputies conducted a warrant service at the 800 block of 2nd Street.

At 3:46 p.m., a transient man was arrested on suspicion of drunken pedestrian and open container after deputies responded to reports of an intoxicated pedestrian near Long and State streets. Bail was set at $125.

At 4:26 p.m., a 62-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after deputies responded to reports of an accident at the College Parkway Sonic Drive-In. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 4:45 p.m., Laura Chaney, 36, of Stagecoach was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after deputies responded to reports of a stolen vehicle near the Fairview Drive iStorage. Bail was set at $4,100.

At 8:40 p.m., Jorge Avalos-Pena, 42, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Woodside and Stanton drives. At the same incident, Irene Hernandez, 32, of Sparks was arrested on suspicion of felony principal trafficking a controlled substance, no insurance, tinted windows and residing without a resident driver’s license. Bail for Avalos-Pena was set at $251,000 and bail for Hernandez was set at $250,665.

At 10:05 p.m., a 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence after deputies conducted a business check at the William Street Lucky Strike Casino. Bail was set at $1,000.

SATURDAY

At 12:06 a.m., Michelle Scott, 48, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony parole and probation, violation of a suspended sentence and stop sign violation after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 1500 block of Rand Avenue. Bail was set at $1,050.

At 2:24 a.m., a 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to maintain a lane, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, open container and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the 1800 block of Stewart Street. Bail was set at $2,640.

At 9:25 a.m., Jose Zarate-Pimentel, 30, of Reno was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of an electronic stun device and petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of a man taking items at the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $5,250.

At 2:49 p.m., Jonathan Moore, 29, of Carson City, was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary warrant and two counts of contempt of court after deputies conducted a warrant service near the 200 block of Long Street. Bail was set at $24,000.

At 8:10 p.m., a 60-year-old Truckee woman was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious subject near the 900 block of Corbett Street. Bail was set at $247.

At 10:36 p.m., a 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Long Street and Saliman Road. Bail was set at $1,000.

SUNDAY

At 7:44 a.m., Robert Key, 41, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of a felony warrant and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies conducted a warrant check near the 3400 block of Airport Road. Bail was set at $1,000.

MONDAY

At 5:14 a.m., a 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, violation of a suspended sentence and violation of conditions of probation after deputies responded to reports of a dispute near the 600 block of Hot Springs Road. Bail was set at $4,500.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes.
