The 24th annual all day Carson City Ghost Walk will depart from the corner of Third and Curry Streets on Oct. 22 and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year the tour will take two paths. The Talking Dead, a 90-minute tour, features five home tours and stars Mark Twain, aka McAvoy Layne, at the home of his brother, Orion Clemens, and The Nevada Gunfighters.
The Scalawag Tour is a 50-minute tour through historic downtown created especially for kids and families as they will meet Grimm’s Fairytales characters. Costumes are welcome and there will trick or treating and two home tours.
Both tours are guided walking tours of the downtown district’s west side historic homes and businesses. The tour will take place rain or shine.
Participants should arrive 10 minutes before the tour begins. There will be photo opportunities, tables, pyschics and Ghost Walk merchandise for sale.
Tours will leave every half our beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Homes on the tour include The Prang House, the St. Charles Hotel, the Krebs-Peterson (“The Shootist”) House, the Clemens House, the Rinckel Mansion, the Governor’s Mansion and the Bliss Bungalow.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event for The Talking Dead tour. Tickets are free for ages 3 and under.
Tickets are $5 for children 12 and under and $10 for adults and $7 for children and under and $12 for adults for The Scalawag Tour.
