The Nevada Artists Association is inviting artists to participate in its annual Nevada Day art exhibition, which will be on display in its gallery at Carson City’s Brewery Arts Center.
Entry date is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22.
The art show will open Oct. 23 and run through Jan. 6. Entry is open to non-member as well as NAA members.
A judged show, there will be seven media categories: Paintings in oil, water color, acrylic; photography and digital art; three dimensional art, sculptures, etc., and dry media, pencil, pastels, etc.. There will be awards in each category for first, second and third places with honorable mentions. Cash awards are offered for all first place winners.
This exhibition also features two special awards: For the first time, Patricia Holub, one of the founders of the NAA, will be judging and awarding honors to one of the participating artists. In the future the “Pat Holub” award will be an integral part of the NAA’s Nevada Day shows.
Although there’s no theme for this show, there will be a “Spirit of Nevada” award which will recognize the art piece that best exemplifies Nevada. Each artist is allowed three pieces, mixed categories are allowed, photographers are limited to entering two photo pieces, a third entry is allowed if in another medium. Entry fees for non-members are $20, 1st piece, $10 for each additional. Member fees are $10 and $5/$5. Max size is 48 inches, paintings and photos must be framed and wired for hanging.
