Mark Withey passed away on September 22nd at the age of 54, at his home in Citrus Heights, California, surrounded by his family, after a long fight against cancer.
Mark was born in Albany, California and moved to Carson City, Nevada in 1966 with his family. He attended Carson City schools until his graduation in 1980.
In 1988, Mark relocated to Seattle, but after two years moved to the greater Sacramento area. There, he graduated from Heald College with an Associate degree in Electronics Technology. Mark held several positions in the machining, technical and sales industries, and also opened his own sales business. Mark received many awards and certificates for his excellent customer service and achievements.
All throughout his lifetime, Mark held a passion for music. During the 1970’s, Mark sang with the Sierra Boys Choir. Later he added drums, guitar and song writing to his repertoire of musical talents. He took every opportunity to engage in, and perform music with others. He enjoyed Christian music, sports, photography and studying Gods word with his Hebrew Roots community. Prior to his illness, Mark was an EMF technician for K-LOVE
Christian radio network.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, James J. Withey, and mother, Lola M. Withey.
He leaves behind his wife Rebecca Withey (Ridgeway); step-son Jonathan Patton; step-daughter Emily Patton of Citrus Heights, California; brother James N. Withey of Reno, Nevada; sister Linda Hobold (Withey) of Carson City, Nevada; and extended family and friends.
A memorial service is planned for November 5, 2016 at 10:00 am at Bridgeway Christian Church, 8150 Industrial Avenue, Building A, Roseville, California, followed by a Celebration of Life potluck
Mark will be laid to rest at Alta Sierra Biblical Gardens in Grass Valley, California.
