Harvest Trains return to Nevada State Railroad Museum

Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum are hosting the second annual Harvest Train from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15-16 and Oct. 22-23.

The No. 25 Steam Train will carry passengers around the track. Pumpkins perfect for jack-o’-lanterns or for fall harvest and Halloween celebrations will be sold and a craft fair will showcase local vendors selling handmade items. A scarecrow art show and auction, with creatures made by children at a local elementary school will benefit each participating class to help teachers buy classroom supplies. Nevada Nosh and Taste of Chicago food trucks will be available. Sassafras restaurant will sell craft beer, root beer and lavender lemonade. The museum also will be collecting non-perishable food items for a food drive to benefit the Advocates to End Domestic Violence. Each item donated will earn one free raffle ticket. Trains operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special all-inclusive pricing is available for unlimited train rides and museum admission at $15 for adults, $10 for museum members, $5 for children 4-17, and free for ages 3 and younger.
