Earn a baby-sitting certification in one day through Western Nevada College’s Continuing Education program on Saturday, Nov. 5. This 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. class on the Carson City campus will help you become the best baby sitter in your neighborhood.
The class prepares teens and pre-teens to become professional and responsible baby sitters. In a training program developed by the American Red Cross, students will gain knowledge and understand their responsibilities when caring for children.
The fast-paced course includes role-playing, lively discussions and video instruction. First aid also is covered.
In addition, students will be presented with some of the skills needed to become hired. They will learn interviewing techniques and what questions to ask during an interview.
The cost is $72 for the class, which is open to students ages 11 to 17.
