Live music, craft vendors and carnival rides will sweeten Carson City’s Nevada Day merriment when RSVP’s 31st annual Nevada Day Carnival and Fair returns to Mills Park.
Kicking off the festivities will be Family Night from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 when all rides are just $1 each. Family Night is made possible in partnership and as a courtesy of Carson City Toyota-Scion.
The carnival and fair opens at noon on Friday, Oct. 28, Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30.
The weekend includes carnival rides, karaoke, DJs, live music, as well as food and vendor booths. All-day ride wristbands are $30 each. Visit the RSVP booth at Mills Park for a $5 off coupon.
Additionally, a blood drive is taking place from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. Walk-ins are welcome.
RSVP’s Day of Service event will return on Saturday, Oct. 29 in honor of the agencies who provide assistance and service to others.
New this year, the Carson City Victory Rollers will be on hand for a roller derby doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Marv Teixeira Pavilion at Mills Park. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. The Junior Bout begins at 4 with the Adult Bout following at 6 p.m.
All fair proceeds help RSVP’s mission to help frail, homebound, and low-income seniors remain independent by providing high quality programs which allow them to stay in their homes with dignity.
RSVP also coordinates a volunteer network of seniors who use their talents to provide support to community agencies and address community needs through service.
