The Fallon Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting last week for Comfort Inn, which recently completed an extensive remodeling of its lodging facility on West Williams Avenue.
Comfort Inn, which opened in 1990 and built a second two-story addition in 1998, remodeled rooms, lobby and hallways, a project that was completed in early May.
General Manager Pranav Morar said construction crews remodeled the lobby with new furnishings, replaced carpeting and wallpaper in the rooms as well as furniture to include beds and box springs, lamps and art. Morar said a new coat of paint livened up each room. Each room also features an area for a microwave and coffeemaker, and new wardrobes were installed. As for the bathrooms, he said the tubs were replaced, and new fixates were added.
Morar said people traveling through or to Fallon on business enjoy the rooms with their amenities. Comfort Inn offers same-day laundry service in conjunction with Crystal Cleaners.
“We reconfigured the rooms to make them aesthetically pleasing,” he said.
The entire property is now 100 per cent smoke free, a policy enacted by the national office that affects about 1,600 motels nationwide.
The project began during the first week of January and took a little more than four months to complete. All told, Morar said the renovation affected 82 rooms and the fitness center, which was expanded and now has a new floor.
Morar said the staff also upgraded the hot breakfast offerings that feature waffles, hot egg and meat items, yogurt, cereals, breads, pastries and beverages.
“Breakfast is quite popular,” he said. “A lot of people like it, especially the families who are traveling.”
Comfort Inn is a family owned business and is celebrating their 11th year of ownership.
Morar attended school in Fallon and has a love for the Lahontan Valley. He sits on the Fallon Convention and Tourism Authority board and belongs to the Chamber of Commerce. Because of his involvement in the community, Morar said he enjoys assisting groups who come through Fallon on charity walks, runs or bicycle rides.
Morar said future guests may check out the accommodations and photos at comfortinn.com/NV021. Comfort Inn is located at 1830 W. Williams Ave., and the telephone number is 775-423-5554.
