The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has charged one local man for a residential arson.
Clinton Gore, 60, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor threats late Tuesday after Carson City deputies responded to reports of a fire at the 1000 block of East Appion around 1:35 a.m. The fire had been restricted to the front door of the residence and had been extinguished by the time officials arrived.
Gore was taken into custody Tuesday after the homeowners completed a citizen’s arrest against the man. Gore allegedly called the victim multiple times and left voicemails claiming he was going to kill the victim. Gore denied setting the fire at the residence at the time.
His charges were amended Friday morning during his first arraignment to include felony aggravated stalking and felony arson 1, said Sheriff Ken Furlong. He’s being held on a $25,000 bond and could face up to 15 years in prison.
Furlong said they charged him with arson for the residential fire, however, he said there’s yet to be any evidence Gore is responsible for the two fires that were also set at the Carson Street Foreman-Roberts House this past weekend.
Fires were set at the Roberts House Sunday and Monday mornings, resulting in minimum damage to the structure.
The investigation into the suspect responsible for the Roberts House arsons is still open and active. Anyone with information on these fire related incidents is asked to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at 283-7851, or the Communication Center at 887-COPS.
