Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon that occurred Sept. 11, 2001. To honor the anniversary, Carson Plaza will host a 9/11 survivor as he shares his firsthand account of the events.
Bert Upson narrowly escaped one of the Twin Towers, and has written a book, “On a Clear Day: 9/11 — An Eyewitness Account,” detailing his experiences and the events of the following days.
Following lunch at noon, Upson will join Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell at 2 p.m. for a rededication of a 9/11 memorial plaque in honor of lives lost. At 3 p.m., Upson will read an excerpt from his book, copies of which will be for sale at the event.
Carson Plaza is at 2120 E. Long St. RSVP is required by calling 775-883-1221.
