The Carson Valley Trails Association (CVTA), in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and the Carson Valley Medical Center, will present its 8th annual Hike for Health Day on Saturday, Sept. 17, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The Nature Conservancy’s River Fork Ranch, located east of the Town of Genoa at 381 Genoa Lane. The event is free and open to the public.
Hike for Health Day will offer a variety of easy, guided hikes and emphasize the health benefits of hiking and other outdoor trail activities. A barbecue lunch will be available from 12 to 1:30 p.m. for a $5 donation. Hickr’y Switch will perform live bluegrass and Americana music from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Participants must register and sign release and waiver forms on site; parent or guardian signature is required for participants age 17 and under. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to any hike you plan to join. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and water. Dogs are not allowed on the trails at River Fork Ranch.
