McDonald’s restaurants in the Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe areas are helping kick-start the school year with a free breakfast.
On Tuesday participating restaurants will offer free breakfast to kindergarten through eighth grade students from 6:30-9:30 a.m.
All students must be accompanied by an adult when visiting a participating McDonald’s restaurant. Students can receive an Egg McMuffin, apple slices and 1% low fat milk, free of charge.
There are two McDonald’s restaurants in Fallon and one each in Fernley, Hawthorne and Lovelock.
“Research continues to show that breakfast is important not only for children’s health, but for academic achievement, cognitive development and mental health,” said Alice Fagundes, chairwoman of the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation. “This is a great program to celebrate the busy back-to-school season as McDonald’s provides a wide array of breakfast options for families on the go.”
