Storey County man arrested on suspicion of open murder charge

A Storey County man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of open murder.

According to the Storey County Sheriff’s Office, Bret Black, was arrested after an investigation into the 2014 death of Black’s wife at their Highlands home.

Black surrendered to the Sheriff’s Office after a warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday. The surrender was arranged through his attorney David Houston of Reno.

Black is currently being held in the Storey County Jail. Bail was set at $250,000.
