An evening with some of Northern Nevada’s best stand-up comics is planned Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Brewery Arts Center’s Maizie Jesse Harris Black Box Theatre, 449 W. King St.
A stand-up comedy showcase, hosted by Nick Josten, will offer the chance for audience members to perform their own stand-up after the show.
Josten is a regular opener at The Pioneer Underground in Reno and has performed theatre with the BAC dating back to his high school days at Carson High School. Matt Wiegand, returning to northern Nevada from a stint teaching in Las Vegas, is headlining the show. Nik Taro has hilarious stories and a unique perspective to share. Rounding out the bill is Darlene Pearson Bray, who has been performing for years in the Carson City and Lake Tahoe arenas.
Once we conclude the showcase we’ll take names for the comedy open mic. Everyone gets five minutes of stage time, and names are drawn at random.
The show is at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door with open seating and a cash bar. For more information, call Nick Josten at 775-450-4772.
