An evening of dancing is planned to benefit Advocates to End Domestic Violence, the largest domestic violence shelter in Northern Nevada.
High Sierra Swing Dance Club is donating all profits from its Sept. 24 fundraiser to the shelter. The dance is from 7:30 to 10 p.m., with a lesson preceding the dance at 6:30 p.m., at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St.
Last year, Advocates to End Domestic Violence provided 4,269 bed-nights and the Sexual Assault Response Advocates (SARA) program assisted 79 clients. It operates a 24-hour crisis call line at 775-883-7654 to help domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
