Douglas County Public Library in Minden hosting family literacy program

The Douglas County Public Library with the Northern Nevada Literacy Council and the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra is offering a family literacy program to help children learn to read through fun activities.

The program is for children birth to third grade and their parents. Sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Sept. 24, Oct. 8 and 22 and Nov. 5 at the Minden branch. Families, who are encouraged to attend all four sessions, will take home new ideas and free books. Free food will be provided.
