The connection between the Civil War-era Fort Churchill and 21st century eBay comes clear in Nevada State Museum’s monthly lecture series on Thursday, Sept. 22.
Gene Hattori, curator of anthropology, explores the artifacts donated to Nevada State Parks after an eBay auction. The collection was purported to be recovered from the Fort Churchill site in 1957.
Hattori was charged with evaluating and verifying the collection. He will share his approach and findings from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the museum, 600 N. Carson St., Carson City. Admission is $8 for adults, and free for members and ages 17 and younger.
