The Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 is asking the assistance of local hunters, farmers, and taxidermists in acquiring hides from deer, elk, and antelope. The club turns these often discarded hides into gloves that will be distributed, at no cost, to local wheelchair-bound veterans.
To help, salt the hides and roll them up hair side out or lay them flat. Then call Al Bye at 775-267-9167 or Wayne Wilson at 775-530-7351 for pick up.
