William “Bill” King

Bill was a resident of Dayton, NV was born in Winnemucca, NV on November 26, 1948 and passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017.

Bill was raised in Battle Mountain, was a proud native Nevadan and served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a diesel mechanic and owned several businesses in the Reno area, but most proudly The Mustang Store and Kings Auto Body. After selling his business he retired for a time then went back to work as a mechanic for the State of Nevada.

Bill was a foster parent to his wife’s grandsons for five years, then he and Laura adopted them as their own. Bill was the founder and president of “Pops with Mops” which met at the Plains casino weekday mornings and will be remembered for his unwavering integrity and being a staunch Republican.

He is survived by his wife, Laura of Dayton; his daughter, Ginger King of Battle Mountain; his sons, Archie and Isaac Ervin of Dayton; two grandchildren, Bailey Garner and Travis King-Wehe of Battle Mountain; great-grandson, Chase Wehe of Battle Mountain and brother, Tommy King of Winnemucca.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Haygen Wehe.

Graveside services wil be held at 2pm, Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Battle Mountain Cemetery, Battle Mountain, NV.

A memorial service will be held in Dayton at a later date.
