A Dayton man is asking for help with organizing a Community Unity Party, an event that offers the chance for neighbors to get together to visit and enjoy food and music while also clearing the area of trash and debris.

The event is being spearheaded by Jim Robben, who recently moved to the area and was taken aback by the debris he found outlying the areas of the subdivision.

His plan is to host a barbecue and music for a three-day cleanup event over Memorial Day weekend.

The event will be at the empty lot behind Smith’s in Dayton. Volunteers will help clean the surrounding streets.

Volunteers can donate their time, supplies or money to help cover the cost of food, utensils and other items. Musicians and cooks who are willing to donate their talents are welcome to contact Robben as well.

To sign up and for information, call Robben at 209-206-8662.
