Two lunatics on hand: Yesterday the sheriff of Storey County brought in Carson a lunatic to be provided for under the provisions of a law passed by the last Legislature, which requires the secretary of state to make arrangements for the care of such unfortunates at Stockton, Calif. Another individual of the same class was brought here a few days since from Humboldt.

Beginning young: A few days ago Deputy Sheriff Chrysler noticed that whenever he bought eggs, they disappeared in short order. One afternoon he happened to go to the backyard and found his little four year old hard at work with the eggs. She had seen her mother use the eggs in making cake and she was making a cake out of mud and eggs. Mr. Chrysler watched the game until he saw 10 eggs go into the mud pie, then he put a stop to the proceedings.

100 Years Ago

Between 40 and 50 men and women gathered at Guild Hall Saturday afternoon in response to a call for the organization of a Red Cross chapter. Mrs. Sam Davis called the meeting to order and stated its purpose. A temporary organization was effected with Mrs. Davis chairman, Ms. Rose Stewart, secretary, and the Carson Valley Bank as treasurer.

Nevada members of Keegan Temple of the Shrine in Reno will take the G. I. Martin Memorial Pilgrimage to Salt Lake City, Archie Pozzi, of Carson City, personal representative of Laurence A. Gulling, illustrious potentate, said Thursday. The Shriners will participate in ground-breaking ceremonies for a new Shrine hospital for crippled children.
