A one-day oil painting basics workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Teri Sweeney Studios in Gardnerville.
Sweeney’s workshop will take students through the basics of oil painting such as explanations of the various supplies used, painting surfaces, using painting grounds and mediums, and methods of applying paint.
Techniques will be practiced using various brushes and palette knives and then utilized to make a small painting. A reference photograph and a drawing to trace will be provided so that anyone can take his class, whether they have painted or drawn before or not.
The $85 cost includes all materials.
