Brian Ray Lunz, a proud native Nevadan, passed away from a sudden heart attack on April 19, 2017. He was born November 5, 1967 in the old small wooden Carson Hospital which burned down in 1968.


Brian leaves behind his wife Wendi; two children, Jessica, 21 and Austin, 16. He also leaves behind his parents, Larry and Kathie Lunz; 3 sisters, Angala Free (Rick), Debra Thrower (Bob) and Laura Hults (David). Also numerous nieces,

nephews and loving family and friends who will greatly miss him.


Brian grew up in Carson City and graduated from Carson High School in 1986. After high school he was in the Navy for 7 years. Serving on the USS Simon Lake submarine Tender in Scotland. On the USS Wainwright, a guided missile cruiser in the Mediterranean, and at Norfolk Naval base in Virginia. He spent his last 3 years at Concord Naval Weapons Station, California working in base security.


After leaving the Navy he returned to Carson City and worked for Cassinelli Landscaping and Construction, and for Western Nevada College, in Buildings and Grounds. Brian also worked at the Capital City Gun Club as the Field Manager.


Our family and friends will be forever grateful for the short time he spent with us on earth and he will be missed.
