MINDEN —Two Carson High girls relay teams turned in outstanding performances at the annual Big George Invitational at Douglas High on Saturday.

The 3200-meter relay quartet of Gabby Fernandez, Rheanna Jackson, Hannah Kaiser and Jaidyn Shepard ran a 10:09, a personal best by 10 seconds. The 400 relay squad of Abigail Cowan, Erica Basa, Annika Wick and Anya Woodbury took second in 51.61.

Ashley Britt was second in the 300 hurdles with a 47.92.

On the boys side, Harry Meyer was second in the 100 hurdles in 16.20, and Ben Granados won his 200 heat in 22.34, which puts him third in Northern Nevada.

Carson competed without Abby Pradere, who was at a club volleyball tournament.


Dayton teams 5th

at Lowry Invite

WINNEMUCCA — Both Dayton track teams took fifth at Saturday’s Lowry Invite.

Elko won the boys meet with 353 followed by Lowry 288, Spring Creek 251, Lovelock 201 and Dayton 131. The Elko girls had 336.66, Lowry 299.32, Spring Creek 297, Lovelock 193 and Dayton 120.

Carson Crosby won the 400 in 52.4, took fifth in the 200 (23.82, PR) and eighth in the 100 (12.27). Jeffrey Walker was second in the 300 hurdles with a PR of 43.20, he was third in the pole vault with a PR of 11-feet and sixth in the long jump at 17-4. David Delfin was third in the discus at 135-7 and fifth in the shot at 37-1.

Ashley Mason won the triple jump at 32-8 and was second in the long jump at 16-feet. Kassie Strong was fourth in the discus at 101-3 and Rebecca Mason was sixth in the 400 with a PR of 63.94 and fifth in the high jump at 4-8. Sydney Strickler was fifth in the 200 with a season-best 27.96 and sixth in the 100 (13.88).


Ply shines at

Sacramento meet

SACRAMENTO — J.J. Ply of Dayton High enjoyed an outstanding day at the annual Sacramento Meet of Champions at American River College.

Ply won his 110 high hurdle heat in 14,92, good for second overall, and he was second in the high jump at 6-6.
