The Nevada Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is creating a list of rural mediators willing to assist District Courts in presiding over foreclosure mediation in Dayton, Fernley, Gardnerville, Fallon, Caliente, Elko, Ely, Laughlin, Mesquite, Pahrump, and Winnemucca. Applications will be accepted for other areas as well.
District Courts in Nevada will assign mediators to cases requesting foreclosure mediation assistance. The AOC will maintain the list of eligible mediators for the District Courts.
For an application to serve as a foreclosure mediator and the statewide foreclosure mediation rules, visit http://nvcourts.link/FMPMediatorProgram.
Individuals interested in serving as a foreclosure mediator, as detailed in SB490, and who meet the mediator requirements as outlined in the proposed foreclosure mediation rules, should fill out an application and return a signed copy (scan acceptable) to FMPMediator@nvcourts.nv.gov by Sept. 1.
Each of Nevada’s District Courts will assign mediators as needed and will pay the mediator $400 per case that completes the mediation process.
The AOC will notify applicants if they are appointed by the Supreme Court as a foreclosure mediator. Appointed individuals will be asked to sign the Mediator Model Code of Conduct.
