The Carson City Sheriff’s Office obtained two new deputies Friday.
Kyle Espino was sworn in as a full-time deputy and Austin Nichols was sworn in as a Reserve Deputy.
“Your swearing in is a day you will never forget,” said Sheriff Ken Furlong. “You are about to step into a dangerous job but a very rewarding one.”
Furlong had the two take the oath of office together, saying the Reserves and paid deputies work together on a daily basis.
“I want everyone to see the Reserves and paid staff work hand in hand... the way they work together in this department is phenomenal,” Furlong said.
The two men had their badges pinned on by their families.
