CCSD to discuss academic updates, enrollment, safety

The Churchill County School District Board of Trustees will meet tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the Old High School auditorium (“The Pit”).

The board will welcome licensed staff new to the district.

Items for discussion and possible action include the following:

Steve Russell, director of transportation and safety, will report on the types and frequency of safety drills that occur in schools.

Churchill County High School staff will report on the status of the agricultural program’s equipment.

Report regarding the salary structure for the Career and Technical Education program teachers.

Report regarding MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) RIT (Rasch Unit scale) scores and Nevada target ranges.

The latest student enrollment data will be provided.

Update regarding the district’s educational grants program.

Principal Amy Weldon will report on the middle school’s academic plan.

Action to ratify the 2017-2018 school year tentative agreement between the district and the Churchill County Educators Association, including fiscal impact data.

The board will discuss policy 4811.0, Early Retirement Incentive Plan.

The board will determine a date, time and location to meet with staff to discuss achievements and challenges as well as receive staff input.
