Bonnie Boice Nishikawa will be signing her new autobiography at the reception at the Carson City Chamber of Commerce from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The author will give insight into what it was like growing up in the Nevada State Children’s Home, long part of Nevada’s history until it was shut down in November 1989. Orphans housed there at that time were placed in foster care.
Her book provides a historical look at Carson City in the 1950s when times were slower and everyone knew everyone.
Refreshments will be served at the reception.
