Desmond Allen LaMotte, age 69, resident of Carson City, peacefully and unexpectedly passed away with his loving family by his side on January 17th. A private burial was held according to his wishes at Eastside Memorial Cemetery in Minden.

He was born in Inglewood, California on October 8, 1947 to Edward and Nellie LaMotte. He spent most of his life in the South Bay of California with his brothers Eddie and David and sister JoEllen. He graduated from South High School in 1965. He started a successful business with his father in 1969 which moved to Carson City in 1991. There he also worked with his brother, sister and nephew.

Des is survived by his daughters Dayna and Debi, his son Aaron and his granddaughter Cassidy, who lit up his life.

Des was generous to a fault with everyone. He was a beloved father and a great friend. He cherished his dog Rocky. He loved to laugh, enjoyed the party, and did life his way. He will be very much missed by all who loved him.

A special thanks to the staff in critical care at Carson Tahoe Regional who helped us through this difficult time.

The family has planned a Celebration of Life for Des on Saturday, May 13th. Details to come. All are welcome.
