A Gibson Girl is coming to Dayton Feb. 15 to share her secrets of achieving a classic look from the Victorian Era.

The Historical Society of Dayton Valley is hosting its first general membership gathering of the year at the Dayton Valley Community Center.

The event will include a free presentation by Tina Hersey-Davis, a fashion historian.

A meet and greet with refreshments will be served from 7 to 7:30 p.m., after which Hersey-Davis will give a demonstration on what Gibson Girls wore beneath their dresses.

The speaker, a Friends of the Nevada State Museum board member, also will display her collection of Victorian Era fashion wear. Her presentation will be based on writings from a Gibson Girl who chronicled details about her clothing in 1903.
